Recent Microchipping Event a Success

Post Date:07/13/2018 1:19 PM

Amarillo, Texas – During the recent free microchipping event, Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare (AAM&W) assisted more than 600 residents from 23 different jurisdictions microchip their pets – some even from the Fort Worth and Portales, New Mexico areas. However, many pets in the Amarillo area were lost-and-found by AAM&W during the Fourth of July celebrations and are currently housed in the City’s shelter, awaiting their families to reclaim them.

AAM&W continues to offer reduced price microchips for Amarillo residents. For more information regarding pet microchipping and how it can help you find your lost animal, visit http://bit.ly/AAMWMicrochips.

If the fireworks and excitement of this past holiday scared your pets into escaping their enclosure, remember the City has an online search tool to reunite lost pets with their owners at http://bit.ly/AAMWLostPets. The shelter, located at 3501 S. Osage St., is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
