Emergency vs Nonemergency

AM&W responds to non-emergency calls until 7:30 pm. If it is after facility hours, and a non-emergency, please email us at animals@amarillo.gov

  • Emergency: 911
  • Nonemergency: 806-378-3038

Animal Management and Welfare does not pick up trapped animals in the field unless it’s a high-risk rabies carrier (Skunk, Coyote, Racoon, Fox, Bat). If you have a trapped animal that is not a high-risk rabies carrier, you can bring them to the shelter during business hours.
